Hell Let Loose: Vietnam is a 50 vs 50 multiplayer tactical first-person shooter set during the Vietnam War, developed by Expression Games and published by Team17. Is Hell Let Loose: Vietnam a DLC or a standalone game?
Hell Let Loose vietnam is a standalone game. Hell Let Loose: Vietnam is a separate full release ($39.99 on Steam) rather than an expansion for the original WWII-era Hell Let Loose. Both games exist side by side with their own player bases and development teams.
Does Hell Let Loose: Vietnam have crossplay?
Yes. Cross-platform multiplayer is supported across PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with crossplay parties. Hell Let Loose vietnam ran a large crossplay playtest before launch — over hundreds of thousands of players — and shipped with crossplay enabled.

Does it have dedicated servers?
Yes. Hell Let Loose vietnam runs on dedicated official servers plus community-hosted servers, with a server browser. At launch the team rapidly added additional official servers across all regions in response to demand — launch-day concurrency peaked at nearly three times the original Hell Let Loose's all-time peak.
I'm getting crashes / AMD GPU issues — is this known?
Yes, this is a known launch issue. Hotfix 1 (August 16, 2026) included AMD GPU stability improvements, server stability fixes and server browser improvements. If you still hit problems, verify your GPU drivers are current and report it on the Steam forums or official Discord.
Can I skip the tutorial?
Yes — the Getting Started tutorial can be skipped by pressing Esc. However, the Squad Leader and Commander tutorials must be completed before you can select those roles, so it's worth doing them at some point.

How many players are in a match?
50 vs 50 — 100 players total — split into multiple squads per team: infantry, recon, armour, mortar and helicopter units, coordinated by one Commander per team.
How many maps are in hell let loose vietnam?
Six launch maps: Thanh Hóa Bridge, Huế Outskirts, Vạn Tường, Quảng Ngãi, Đắk Tô Airfield and Cam Ranh Port. More maps are expected in post-launch updates.
How many classes are there?
17 specialised roles across six units: Commander (Command); Squad Leader, Rifleman, Grenadier, Engineer, Medic, Specialist, Machine Gunner (Infantry); Spotter, Sniper (Recon); Tank Commander, Crewman (Armour); Logistics Officer, Pilot (Helicopter, US only); Observer, Support, Gunner (Mortar).
What factions can I play as?
Two at launch: the US Armed Forces and the North Vietnamese Army (NVA). The US brings helicopters, the M48 Patton and the M16; the NVA brings tunnels, the T-54, the RPD and the RPG-02. The 2026 Field Supplies DLC previews ANZAC forces and US special operations (Green Berets & Navy SEALs) arriving in later 2026 updates.
Do I need to play the original Hell Let Loose first?
No. It's a standalone game with its own tutorial and onboarding. Veterans of the original will recognise the core formula (sector capture, garrisons, chain of command), but the Vietnam setting adds helicopters, tunnels, patrol boats and new movement mechanics.
Is there cross-progression between platforms?
Cross-progression details vary by storefront. Hell Let Loose vietnam supports cross-platform multiplayer; for account progression, check the platform-specific store pages — official documentation doesn't currently list universal cross-save.

Is there post-launch content planned?
Yes. Team17 and Expression Games are running hell let loose vietnam as a live service with regular updates: Hotfix 1 shipped August 16, 2026, and the dev team has discussed continued balance work, performance fixes and the DLC uniform roadmap through Q4 2026.
